Rotture, Portland Oregon

After sending emails for over 3 months with numerous follow ups to try and book a show here, the only response I got was "Not Interested, Sorry". What a rude booking agent, there could have been some explanation as to why, or maybe they could have just mentioned that they weren't interested after the first email, instead of sending many over three months.

I hope other people's experiences are better than mine.

Saw these guys at the Hawthorne when they were the main support for Cage. Cage sucked, these guys were awesome. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for some upcoming shows. Their beats were catchy, their flow was good, and they were definitely well rehearsed. If only they had live musicians playing their music, then it would be truely amazing, for now it's pretty damn good.

Saw this guy in Portland, honestly have to say the group before him was better. Maybe I didn't understand exactly what he was going for, but he just came across as a jerk, and his music seemed only so so live. Probably won't go see him again if he's in town.

Decent hardcore band, fairly cookie cutter but the solo's cut through. Entertaining, I found that I was bobbing my head up and down at a few points. The highlight of the show was watching one of the 16 year olds in the crowd get kicked out for starting a fight after two stepping....

Entertaining Pop/hard rock/almost metal band. Kind of Jack Black sense of humor portrayed by their lead singer. Music was OK, a few interesting covers thrown in the middle of their songs, overall I enjoyed their show. I hope to see them sometime.

These guys are pretty good. They're all nice guys and their music was entertaining. It was very Modest Mouse sounding, except their singer was better than MM's.

For one of the more hard hitting musical venues, this place actually caters to many different sounds of music. Hosting everyone from Gunther to Lamb of God, it's probably the best all ages venue in Portland I'd say. The main stage definitely blows any other all ages venue out of the water, especially since people 21+ can enjoy the show at the same time as the younger crowd.

Well designed, and...

Doug Fir, Portland Oregon

Venue review (1/1)

I'm always impressed with the shows that the Doug Fir is able draw onto its stage. Their sound crew does a good job at no making it sound like a muddy mess, and the whole atmosphere is intensely awesome. I definitely just going to check out the music, because they always pull great bands, even if you've never heard of any of the bands playing that night.

My band played here a while ago, and the stage management is superb. The woman in charge really knows her stuff and it was a very smooth show. Sound checks were just a tad long, but everything sounded great so it was worth it.

I recommend playing here if you're a band and checking out music here if you're a fan.
